The HSAFP Chapter Monthly Curriculum

Did you know that the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) highlights 17 premed competencies that medical schools look for in applicants?

Unique to any other high school student group organization, HSAFP incorporates these pre-med competencies in virtual and hands-on curriculum—updated monthly—to ensure all high school students can build crucial skills needed as a pre-med student, medical student, resident, and, eventually, physician.

Prepare for a future in healthcare through a flexible monthly curriculum that proves pre-med preparation can be as enjoyable as it is rigorous. Featuring a new healthcare focus each month, this track allows chapter leaders to customize the curriculum to best serve their specific school. Virtual Patient Interaction with Dr. Blair Nelson

Ever wondered what it’s like to be an emergency room physician? In this interactive series, the HSAFP Executive Team partnered with Full Code Medical Simulation and MedSchoolCoach to give you the chance to experience real-life medical cases.

With guidance from Dr. Blair Nelson, MD, students worked through the diagnosis and treatment of Randy Sherman, our virtual patient, while exploring the AAMC Premed Competencies and key problem-solving skills used in the ER.
